Synergien til folk som jobber sammen er enorm, for sammen klarer en mye mer enn hver for seg. Ingen kan alt, men alle kan litt.  Her følger en liten liste over eksempler på alternativsamfunn som har vist hvordan fellesskap kan pumpe opp alles helse, livskvalitet, synergi, engasjement og resultater – kort sagt vise vei til en bedre framtid.

Storfjordens Venner
I de stupbratte fjellsidene på begge sider av Storfjorden på Sunnmøre ligger ca. 50 fraflyttede gårder. Foreningen Storfjordens Venner har som mål å holde gårdsbygningene i hevd, som vitne om Norges strevsomme fortid.

Konohana Family Farm
Established around 1994 in the shadow of Japan’s picturesque Mount Fuji. Today, this sustainable community is home to more than 70 people who cultivate over 250 rice and vegetable crops across 16 hectares in Shizuoka prefecture’s Fujinomiya City, 2.5 hours west of Tokyo. Furthermore, Konohana’s organic, seasonal, vegetarian and bio-diverse agricultural practices are now being taught to fledgling eco-villages in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific.

Centre for Alternative Technology
CAT is an education and visitor centre in Wales UK, which demonstrates practical solutions for sustainability. They  started in 1974 and cover all aspects of green living: environmental building, eco-sanitation, woodland management, renewable energy, energy efficiency and organic growing. www.cat.org.uk

The Camphill Movement is an initiative for social change inspired by anthroposophy. Camphill communities are residential «life-sharing» communities and schools for adults and children with learning disabilities, mental health problems and other special needs, which provide services and support for work, learning and daily living. There are 119 Camphill communities in 21 countries in Europe, North America, southern Africa and Asia.
